Blueberry is a true A-list cannabis strain which is spoken about in reverential tones by growers and smokers alike. This wonderful strain was first created by the Canadian breeder DJ Short in the 1990’s who was working with old school landrace genetics. It is a mainly indica strain made up of Afghani genetics and to a lesser extent sativa strains from Thailand. Once he had refined his Blueberry strain it took the world by storm and won both the Indica cannabis cup and the Overall cannabis cup at the high times event in 2000. This original blueberry strain forms the basis of every modern blue strain we know today so is massively important in our marijuana history. Blueberry is a fairly short plant which will rarely exceed 1 metre in height indoors. It can grow outdoors as well but prefers the sunshine of the Mediterranean or California over the moisture summers of northern Europe. She can get very bushy and packs on wonderful blue and purple buds which give off a fantastic fruity aroma. Flowering time is around 8-9 weeks with the longer she is left resulting in a stronger stoned effect. As an indica strain blueberry offers a very relaxing body stone and delicious fruity flavours. It is used by many medical growers who appreciate its long lasting body stone and its ability to suppress pain and stimulate appetite. Overall a great all around strain which tastes good, looks fantastic and is perfect for indica fans looking for a relaxing smoke
